Before the mass exodus of refugees from Syria into Europe during the conflict there were many Syrians living in massive refugee camps. These photographs were taken in the north western area of Idlib in 2013. Many were injured from bombing by Assad forces and were unable to leave because of physical injuries or inadequate documentation to cross the border, some just simply didn’t want to leave their homeland but couldn’t stay in the cities due to fighting and loss of home.
Many people especially children suffer from psychological trauma from what they have seen and experienced. These are the effects of war on normal, everyday people.
